Care
Wash with mild soap and water. Prolonged direct sun will fade plastic over a few seasons, so a partly shaded spot lasts longer.
Not included: plants, soil and potting mix.
Before you pot it up
Measure the pot you have, then go one size up.
Pot size is measured across the top rim, in inches. When a plant outgrows its pot, move up by one to two inches of diameter. A pot far larger than the root ball holds soil the roots cannot drain, and that rots them.
Drainage is the other half. Every listing says whether the pot has a hole and whether a saucer or mesh pad is included. A pot without a hole is a cover pot: keep the plant in a plastic nursery pot inside it.
